Paul George Sr. recently voiced his frustrations regarding the Los Angeles Clippers, accusing the organization of betraying his son, star player Paul George.

“It was like… I felt like they stabbed us in the back,” George Sr. said, via Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.
George recently opted out of his contract with the Clippers and signed with the Philadelphia 76ers after not receiving a satisfactory offer from his former team.
George Sr. stated that his son’s request for a new deal was not excessive, and he was surprised by the Clippers’ approach.
He emphasized that George had been a loyal player, giving 110% to the team and the fans during his five-year tenure in Los Angeles.
The Clippers’ unwillingness to meet George’s expectations led him to leave, a decision his father fully supported.
“I didn’t want him just to take anything,” George Sr. said, expressing his belief that his son was right to stand up for himself.
George Sr. added that while leaving the Clippers was a tough decision, it was necessary for his son’s career.
He acknowledged the challenges of moving on but maintained that Paul George deserved better from the organization.
During his time with the Clippers, Paul George averaged 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game.
Despite his contributions, the Clippers’ offer during extension talks was not enough to keep George in Los Angeles.
George Sr. made it clear that his son’s departure was a result of the Clippers’ failure to recognize his worth.
