In a recent episode of her podcast, “Unapologetically Angel,” Angel Reese discussed her feelings regarding Caitlin Clark‘s immense popularity. In an open conversation with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, the Chicago Sky forward talked about a number of subjects, including Clark’s influence as an Indiana Fever rookie.
The topic of discussion turned to how women’s basketball might develop, namely the requirement for more dunks in the sport. However, Reese noted that female athletes would still find it difficult to win the same respect from male spectators even if dunking grew more popular.
In an attempt to advance the conversation, O’Neal questioned Reese about why she believed Caitlin Clark in particular had been able to garner so much attention. Reese said : “She can shoot 3s from logo,”
This had Shaq responding : “We’ve never seen that before. That’s my point. You know why I love Steph Curry? ‘Cause I’ve never seen that before. I’ve seen it a little bit in Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, but I’ve never seen a guy consistently come down.”
Caitlin Clark has had a rookie season
Since being selected first overall, Clark has distinguished herself as a player by attracting attention with her remarkable shooting range and scoring prowess.

“She reminds me of my daughter, so I mentor her at times. Like the time she was having a problem with Kim, I called her and I said ‘Hey, part of the game, don’t say nothing, don’t respond. Just take your punishment like a soldier and then come back.'”
