Olivia Munn Displays Her Breast Cancer Scar In Skims Photo Session

In a topless Skims photo shoot, Olivia Munn bravely displayed her breast cancer scar. The actress, who made her diagnosis public in March of this year, declared, “Now I can breathe” following the announcement of the mark.

Olivia, 41, underwent four surgeries in the last year to combat breast cancer after being diagnosed with the disease in April 2023. She spoke with Savannah Guthrie on TODAY this morning, sharing her story and the reasons behind her desire to flaunt her surgical scars.

Olivia responded to Savannah’s question on the meaning of the photographs by saying:

“When Skims approached me to do this campaign, it was just to do their shapewear and their leggings, it wasn’t about my scar at all.”

“We were in the middle of the shoot and we were changing an outfit that could see more of my scars, and the make-up artist was touching up my scars and we got to the double mastectomy scars, and they were just really hard to cover up.” “Then I was looking in the mirror, and I just thought, I’m done being insecure about my scars.” “So I went to the team of Skims and I said, ‘What do you guys think about showing my scars in this campaign?’

“They were so amazing, thoughtful and wonderful.” “We talked it out and then we decided to do it! That’s the result of it.” “It was scary, but I feel like this is something I’ve been hiding for a long time now, and it just feels like I can breathe a little bit more.” “Also knowing that there are so many women that have these same scars as me and I know so many of them feel the same way I felt about them for so long.”

“I hope that they see this Skims campaign, Skims is so iconic and associated with beauty and sex appeal and cancer doesn’t really have that same connotation.

“I really hope other women that have gone through my same path feel a little better.”

In February 2023, Olivia underwent genetic testing to check for 90 different types of cancer. Two months after the test came back negative, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, namely Luminal B carcinoma in both breasts. After that, the celebrity had four operations, including a double mastectomy.

“I’ve had four surgeries in the last ten months, spent so many days in bed I can’t even count, and learned more about cancer, cancer treatment, and hormones than I ever could have imagined,” Olivia said to followers earlier this year.
