A Blistering Critique of Trump’s Policies by Dave Chappelle Goes Viral

A video of comedian Dave Chappelle making fun of Donald Trump‘s tariffs has reappeared as the world struggles with the effects of his massive tariffs.

Even his close advisor, Elon Musk, publicly questioned the policy when the president announced the steep tariffs, sending stock markets into a tailspin.

However, the wealthiest man in the world is the first to question Trump’s reasoning for starting an economic war with the rest of the globe.

Trump’s initiatives are characterized as “high people ideas” in a 2017 Chappelle clip that went popular online after the White House violated decades of international trade agreements.

Chappelle said in the clip: “Like, he doesn’t think these things through before he tells us. He just tells us what he’s thinking as soon as it occurs to him,”

“That s*** sounds nuts, ‘I’m gonna go to China and I’m gonna get those jobs from China and bring them back here to America’. For what? So iPhones can be $9,000?”

“Leave that job in China where it belongs. None of us want to work that hard,”

“I want to wear Nikes — I don’t want to make them.”

Following the imposition of 104% tariffs on Wednesday, Beijing and Washington have pledged not to back down, placing China at the center of the trade battle with the United States.

Since then, the Chinese embassy has uploaded a video of Ronald Reagan, the former US president known for his support of free market economics, discussing the effects of tariffs.
