A platform collapsed at a Philadelphia cemetery, causing a group of pallbearers carrying a loved one’s casket to fall into a grave.
The men are seen carrying the coffin from an SUV to the grave in the funeral video. The platform above the burial plot collapses as the pallbearers start to lower the casket, plunging it into the grave.
The image was captured on Friday at Philadelphia’s Greenmount Cemetery as friends and family lamented Benjamin Aviles’ passing, according to WPVI.
Maribelle Rodriguez, the stepdaughter of Aviles, told WPVI: “It was just a horrible incident that happened at a bad moment,” “The casket lay on top of him, and he was out like a light with his face in the mud,”
“There should be some reimbursement, being that the ceremony was interrupted; nothing was done properly.”
Rodriguez informed the local media that the pallbearers had sustained injuries to their hands, back, and legs.
