Cassie Explains Why She Text She Loved Freak Offs and Wanted Them to Continue Forever

Startling text messages from Cassie Ventura to Sean “Diddy” Combs became a focal point during the music mogul’s ongoing sex trafficking trial, as the defense sought to portray her as a willing participant in the “freak offs” she has alleged were often coerced. One particular 2012 exchange revealed Ventura telling Combs she wanted a “freak off” to be “the first time for the rest of our lives.”

During cross-examination in mid-May 2025, Combs’ defense attorney, Anna Estevao, presented a series of texts between Ventura and Combs. In one 2012 exchange, after Combs suggested they “FO [freak off] one last time tonight,” Ventura initially responded with “What?” After Combs questioned if she could read, Ventura wrote, “I don’t want to freak off for the last time. I want it to be the first time for the rest of our lives.”

However, the prosecution quickly worked to provide broader context to this message. Prosecutor Emily Johnson had Ventura read subsequent texts from that same exchange, where she also wrote, “I want to see you, but I’m emotional right now,” and significantly, “I don’t want to do one last time. I’d rather not do it at all.”

This particular exchange was one of several instances where the defense highlighted messages from Ventura that appeared to show enthusiasm or willingness to participate in the “freak offs”—a term used to describe alleged drug-fueled sexual encounters, often involving sex workers, that Ventura testified Combs orchestrated. Other texts presented by the defense included a July 2013 message where Ventura reportedly wrote to Combs, “Wish we could’ve FO’d before you left,” and a 2017 text stating, “I love our FOs when we both want it.”

Ventura, on the stand, offered explanations for these messages. She testified that comments like “loving FOs” were “just words at that point” and expressed frustration that jurors were not always seeing the complete context of the messages being presented. She maintained throughout her days of testimony that while she may have initially been open to such encounters in an effort to please Combs and spend time with him, she grew to loathe them and felt compelled to participate due to alleged threats of violence and the fear that Combs would publicly release compromising videos of her.

The R&B singer has alleged that she endured “hundreds” of these “freak offs” over the course of her decade-long relationship with Combs and that they often left her feeling ashamed.

The trial, which has gripped the public with its disturbing allegations, continues as both sides present evidence and witness testimony to paint vastly different pictures of the relationship between Cassie Ventura and Sean Combs.
