Following the Shock of Game 2, Knicks and Celtics Fans Fight in a Crazy Scene

After the Knicks defeated the Celtics 91-90 on Wednesday night to take a 2-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals, there was a crazy scene outside TD Garden.

Videos shared on social media show numerous altercations that broke out in the street as police officers tried to separate competing fans. On the ground, a Celtics supporter wearing a Paul Pierce jersey was observed striking a man wearing a John Starks jersey.

Eventually, the Knicks supporter stood up and left with a bleeding face. The man seemed to be led away from the altercation by a policeman who placed his hand on his shoulder. Another video shows a man on the ground wearing a No. 11 Jalen Brunson jersey being held by many police officers.

One cop could be heard shouting, “Back up…”

On Causeway Street, next to the Celtics’ arena at 100 Legends Way, there was a CVS Pharmacy where the altercations took place.

Following the final buzzer, an arena staffer contacted security to eject some Knicks fans who had remained inside the arena to support their team, which sparked these altercations.
