It was announced back in April that Jalen Ramsey and the Miami Dolphins would part ways amicably prior to the 2025 campaign. Ian Rapoport states that due to financial factors influencing the Miami Dolphins’ salary space, a deal is unlikely to happen until after June 1st. The Dolphins would have been forced to pay a large dead cap fee if Ramsey had been traded before June 1st.
The Rams’ track record with Jalen Ramsey from 2019 to 2022 made them a viable choice. Ramsey won Super Bowl LVI, was selected to three pro bowls, and received two first team all-pro selections while he was with Los Angeles. Sean McVay, meanwhile, consistently refuted any speculations during OTAs and mini camp, citing a number of considerations that go into such choices. The guy was still a target for the Rams, but only at the appropriate price.
Now that Ramsey has been signed by the Steelers, the story is officially over. Jalen Ramsey will get a raise of $1.5 million in 2025 as part of the agreement.
