Luka Doncic’s New Contract Lauded by LeBron James

According to international media on Tuesday, NBA legend LeBron James congratulated Luka Doncic on agreeing to a three-year, $165 million deal extension with the Los Angeles Lakers.

After the contract was signed, James reportedly sent Doncic his best wishes via video call before attending a press conference at the Lakers’ practice facility on Saturday.

The news conference did not include LeBron. However, the call carried on James’s support for Doncic. Following the Lakers’ acquisition of the 26-year-old superstar from the Dallas Mavericks in February, James has been a strong advocate for Luka.

After the Doncic deal on February 4, James stated, “Luka has been my favorite player in the NBA for a while now,”

During the regular season, Luka Doncic and LeBron James played together with the Lakers, who finished 16-7.

After the Lakers’ first-round loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, James was asked about Doncic’s upcoming contract decision. He told ESPN that while he wanted Doncic to stay, he would not try to influence his choice.
