With less than six weeks remaining until the start of the 2025 NFL season, now is a good time to consider which teams are most likely to win the Super Bowl.
Reigning champions Philadelphia Eagles will head into the new campaign as the bookmakers’ favourites to retain the NFL championship.

NFL 2025: Season Preview
While the Eagles are worthy favourites to retain the Super Bowl, the Buffalo Bills appeal as the value bet in what looks to be a wide-open market.
The Bills have suffered plenty of heartache in recent seasons including two defeats against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.
Quarterback Josh Allen won the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award last season and he is fancied to finally get his hands on a coveted Super Bowl ring.
The Bills made some shrewd acquisitions in the 2025 NFL Draft including edge rusher Landon Jackson and cornerback Maxwell Hairston.
Their favourable regular season schedule features ten fixtures against teams who failed to post a winning record during the previous campaign.
That gives them every chance of earning the top seed in the AFC and potentially hosting the Conference Championship game.
The Eagles should make a strong bid to defend their title, although the loss of five experienced players from their defensive unit is a significant blow.
However, they could face a stern challenge from the Detroit Lions in the NFC. They posted a franchise-best 15-win season in 2024, but came up short in the play-offs.
The Lions are one of four active NFL teams without a Super Bowl appearance, but they could rectify that anomaly during the upcoming campaign.
