Jake Paul Versus Tank Davis Fight Location Is Reportedly at Risk

It appears that Jake Paul against Tank Davis may not be taking place in Atlanta, as El Gallo’s Most Valuable Promotions has allegedly withdrawn its requests to host the event in Georgia.

The head of the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission commented on the situation regarding the November 14 fight in an interview with USA Today, revealing that MVP has pulled its submission for the necessary event permits and rule waivers to hold the boxing match at State Farm Arena as initially planned.

Rick Thompson stated that he wanted to inform the public about this development, noting that as of Wednesday, presale sign-ups were still active on the venue’s website.

The permits are typical for organizing an event of this magnitude, and the rule waivers pertain to the significant weight disparity between Paul and Davis, with Paul weighing approximately 65 pounds more than Davis based on their latest fights.

Thompson mentioned that the GAEC is expected to convene this week to vote on MVP’s submissions, emphasizing that the promotion required approval from three out of five commissioners, but it was evident that he would not support it. Thompson has been vocal about his concerns regarding the fight, previously describing it as “the dumbest (expletive) I’ve ever heard.”

As for MVP, they have yet to comment on the report but indicated earlier this week that a significant announcement would be forthcoming.
