Weeks After Undergoing Knee Surgery, Sophie Cunningham’s Bikini Dance Becomes Viral

Following the release of a video over Labor Day weekend, Sophie Cunningham, a forward for the Indiana Fever in the WNBA, has become a trending subject on social media.

Weeks after surgery, the 6’1″ athlete is spotted dancing to Renee Rapp’s song “I Think I Like You Better When You’re Gone” while sporting a knee brace and a tiny bikini.

On August 17, the 29-year-old suffered a tear to her medial collateral ligament (MCL), which kept her out of action for the rest of the season.

Fans have responded strongly to the video, which features Cunningham moving with assurance while recovering, praising her enthusiasm and upbeat attitude during the process.

Cunningham’s loss makes the Indiana Fever’s problems worse. She was the third player at her position to sustain a season-ending injury, averaging 8.6 points per game.

In the past, Aari McDonald suffered a foot fracture during a game on August 7 and Sydney Colson tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
