Founded in March by TKO and the Saudi Arabian entertainment conglomerate Sela, Zuffa Boxing is run by WWE president Nick Khan and UFC president and CEO Dana White in collaboration with Sela CEO Dr. Rakhan Alharty and Saudi Boxing Federation president Turki Alalshikh.

White stated to CBS Sports: “Timing is everything and the timing was perfect,”

“I met [Alalshikh] two years ago, and off of our first meeting, I had less-than-zero intent on getting into boxing. As I got to get to know him, he’s obviously very passionate about the sport. He loves it and the boxing fights that have been made since he got into the sport would have never been done in a million years.”

In order to produce the stars of the future who will eventually compete on Alalshikh’s “The Ring” and Riyadh Season events, White claims that Zuffa Boxing will act as a testing ground, pitting up-and-coming prospects against one another in 50/50 bouts.
