How Cowboys Trevon Diggs Gave Himself a Concussion at Home

Dallas Cowboys standout Trevon Diggs will be sidelined for this weekend’s important game against the Commanders after his coach revealed that he experienced an accident at home on Thursday night.

Brian Schottenheimer shared this information with reporters on Friday morning, and while he didn’t provide detailed information about the incident, he confirmed that the former All-Pro is currently in concussion protocol and will not participate on Sunday.

Schottenheimer expressed his hopes for Diggs’ recovery and mentioned that the team will depend on some younger defensive backs, including Caelen Carson, to step up while the two-time Pro Bowler heals.

This incident adds to a series of challenges for Diggs, who has faced numerous injuries and inconsistent performance since signing a five-year, $97 million contract extension with Dallas in 2023.

He appeared in only two games in ’23, just 11 in ’24, and this year, he has started in only four out of the team’s six games.

He has yet to log an interception this season and has voiced frustrations regarding the amount of zone coverage the Cowboys, currently sitting at 2-3-1, have utilized thus far.

The match between Dallas and Washington is set to kick off at 1:15 PM at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
