Welcome to Joe Flacco’s latest life: lonely quarterback navigating a new city isn’t as bad is you think.
After the Browns traded him off to the Bengals, Flacco is now sharing his experience living in that city.
“I used to see guys sitting at the bar by themselves or just sitting by themselves eating and grabbing a little meal and thinking, ‘man, I feel so bad for that guy. You almost want to go join him,'” the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback told reporters Wednesday.
“And now I realize that dude was in heaven.”
The comments came as Flacco was discussing playing in Cleveland and now Cincinnati this season even though his family isn’t living with him.
He also said there haven’t been that many Bengals fans to approach him for pictures at restaurants yet because he eats at 4:30 p.m. to beat the crowd in another tongue-in-cheek reference to his age.
It was an amusing press conference, but Flacco also made it clear he would rather his family be with him. He also revealed they are traveling to Cincinnati for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, so he will have some company for his dinner this time around.
