Christian Wood, a former player for the Los Angeles Lakers, is in the news due to an event that happened at his house recently. When his Sherman Oaks house was broken into during the day on Wednesday, he confronted three suspects in a home invasion. According to police investigations, the suspects didn’t realize Wood was inside when they entered through the back door at around 1 p.m.
Wood has played for a number of NBA clubs, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks, New Orleans Pelicans, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, and Dallas Mavericks. He was a member of the Lakers from 2023 to 2025.
He has appeared in 339 games over his eight-year career in the league, averaging 13.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists while shooting 51.4% from the field.
However, fresh information made public by law enforcement indicates:
According to law enforcement, the gun used by former Los Angeles Laker Christian Wood to defend his Sherman Oaks Airbnb from several felons attempting a home invasion robbery was a ghost gun with am illegal high-capacity magazine.

However, Wood claimed that he discovered the firearm in the two-story rental house and that it was not his.
Wood is currently a free agent after concluding his career with the Lakers. There isn’t any further information, though, about his potential comeback to the league. As authorities continue to look into the matter, the continuing occurrence now makes matters more complicated.
