Fresh off a historic Major League Baseball season, Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes and LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne were spotted celebrating in Hawaii this week.
The couple traveled to the island of Kauai to mark Skenes’ 2025 National League Cy Young Award win, according to photos and reports surfacing Friday. Skenes, 23, became the first pitcher in Pirates history to win the award in 35 years, just a season after being named the NL Rookie of the Year.
Celebration in Paradise
The vacation served as a victory lap for Skenes following his standout sophomore campaign. Photos obtained by TMZ Sports showed the pair relaxing poolside at a luxury resort. Dunne, just finished her fifth and final season with the LSU gymnastics team, was seen soaking up the sun in a green two-piece swimsuit and straw hat.
Skenes appeared to take a lower-profile approach to the tropical weather, photographed lounging in a hooded sweatshirt and bandana. Later images captured the couple driving a golf cart through a rain shower, with Skenes dressed in a white polo and brown trousers and Dunne in a black dress.
A Power Couple’s Year
The trip caps a whirlwind year for both athletes. Skenes posted a 1.96 ERA and 216 strikeouts during the 2025 season, cementing his status as one of baseball’s dominant pitchers.
Meanwhile, Dunne announced in July she would return to LSU for a fifth year, utilizing the extra year of eligibility granted to college athletes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Her “Not Dunne Yet” campaign has kept her in the national spotlight as she aims to defend LSU’s national gymnastics title.
Offseason Downtime
The Hawaii getaway is the latest in a series of high-profile travels for the couple, who met while both were student-athletes at LSU. They have previously been spotted in Italy and at various sporting events during their respective offseasons.
