Manny Pacquiao Will Box Against Provodnikov in an April 14 Exhibition

An exhibition match between veteran Manny Pacquiao and former light-welterweight world champion Ruslan Provodnikov is scheduled for April 18.

After losing the WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios by majority draw in July, Pacquiao, 47, came out of retirement after four years.

Following that loss, the eight-weight world champion demanded a rematch, but he has since changed his strategy and will now fight in an exhibition match.

The 10-round exhibition match between Pacquiao and Provodnikov, who retired in 2016, will take place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

According to Pacquiao:

“I carry the Philippines with me every time I fight,”.

“The support from my country and from fans around the world continues to inspire me. I’m coming back to give them a great fight – and I’m ready.”

“Returning to Las Vegas means so much to me.”

With 62 victories, 8 defeats, and 3 draws in his professional career, Pacquiao has won two of his last three exhibitions and drawn one.

After reversing his decision to retire, Pacquiao told BBC Sport in July that he planned to make a lengthy comeback to boxing before taking on Barrios. In 2025, the Filipino was admitted to the Boxing Hall of Fame.

During his professional career, 42-year-old Provodnikov of Russia competed at light-welterweight and welterweight, winning 25 fights and losing five.
