Anthony Edwards Made a Special Effort to Acknowledge Victor Wembanyama’s All-Star Game Effort

Anthony Edwards is not a man who minces his words. This week he gave all credit to Wemby for All-Star Game.
The NBA All-Star Game this year was held on Sunday night, and it was an extremely exciting event that was almost unrecognizable from past editions.

Naturally, Sunday’s ASG was a full reversal of the years-long criticism of the All-Stars’ on-court performance and the seeming lack of interest in competing that was evident in their play. The celebrities sincerely wanted to win. They played defense. When the games were close and the winner was determined by buzzer-beaters, the intensity was evident.

It may have been one of the greatest All-Star performances ever if the title fight hadn’t ended up being a complete bust. It’s simply the best NBA All-Star Game in a very long time as it stands right now.

According to Anthony Edwards, there is only one man who deserves recognition for raising the bar for competition. Wembanyama Victor is his name.

In the opening game of the evening, Edwards faced Wemby, and the Spurs star established a high standard for effort. Within ten seconds of tip-off, he dunked on Cade Cunningham by enclosing him in the paint, and he was off and running. Additionally, it was Edwards’ first opportunity to present Wembanyama with his flowers for motivating everyone else.

After securing the victory for Team Stars, the Wolves star stated:

“Wemby set the tone,”. “He came out playing hard. We had to follow that. We had to pick it up as the red team, and we did that.”

But Edwards wasn’t finished. Edwards praised the French superstar once more after Wembanyama excelled in his second game and the All-Star Game as a whole featured noticeably greater effort. He won All-Star MVP after Team Stars defeated Team Stripes in the championship game, and this time it happened after that.

During his All-Star postgame interview, which was his last appearance in front of the media that evening, Edwards once again made sure to give Wembanyama credit. When asked what had changed about the game’s competitive aspect, he could only name one individual.

“Wemby, I told you.”
