NBC Cameraman’s Attempt to Track Thunder Players off the Court Goes Viral

The Oklahoma City Thunder went on the road and wrote a statement victory over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander outperformed Nikola Jokic in what may very well be a preview of the Western Conference finals as Oklahoma City departed town with a 121-111 victory.

With all the bells and whistles that accompany that presentation, the victory was broadcast nationwide on NBC. The manner the victorious Thunder left the court and returned to the locker room, however, was something the TV crew was unable to depict.

That attempt was blocked by not one, but two security guards who prevented the cameraperson from taking that shot.

Here’s how it played out on television:

Experts in body language concur that the guys did not want any illegal looks at contented OKC members leaving. This is also indicated by the “no, bro” remark. Viewers instead had to settle for an on-court interview with Kenrich Wiliams.

Security played until the final whistle and beyond, and even those who are disappointed that they did not get a view of players heading down a hallway must admire the intense hustle and excitement.
