Dwight Howard Says He’s Never Done Cocaine Despite What Amy Luciani Said

Former NBA star Dwight Howard vehemently denied allegations of cocaine use leveled by his estranged wife, Amber Howard, in a social media post Wednesday, amid their ongoing divorce proceedings.

Howard, 40, took to Snapchat to address the claims, writing, “Never done Coke in my life.” He further criticized those who believe online rumors, stating, “Y’all believe anything y’all see on the internet.”

The denial came in response to a viral video posted by Amber Howard, in which she accused the eight-time All-Star of having a “severe cocaine problem” and held up a bag containing white powder, saying he needs help. She added that people ignore the issue because of his wealth.

The couple’s divorce has been tumultuous. Howard filed for divorce Monday in Georgia, citing an irretrievably broken marriage. Amber Howard had initially filed eight months ago but withdrew the petition in August 2025. Police have been called to Howard’s home in Suwanee, Georgia, three times in the past 14 days, including for a suicide threat and a domestic incident.

Howard, who last played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season with the Los Angeles Lakers, has faced public scrutiny before. In 2019, he denied allegations of being gay amid rumors and a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault and battery against a man, which he called false. He has also discussed personal matters like losing his virginity during his early NBA career, contrasting with his earlier public image as a devout Christian emphasizing abstinence.

Given Howard’s history of denying personal allegations that later fueled ongoing controversies, observers suggest taking his latest statements with a grain of salt.
