Los Angeles never disappoints when it comes to wild stories, and this one feels like a Netflix script that somehow escaped into real life. Meet Adva Lavie, a model, influencer, and apparently, part-time “trust builder” with a very questionable business model.
According to reports, Adva wasn’t just swiping right for love, she was allegedly swiping right for opportunity. The kind that ends with older men wondering where their wallets and dignity went.
Here’s how the plot supposedly worked. Adva would match with older men on dating apps. You know, the usual “Hey handsome” energy. She’d charm them, gain their trust, and make them feel like they just hit the jackpot. Romance? Maybe. Connection? Sure. Red flags? Hidden behind a perfect Instagram smile.
Then comes the twist. After gaining their trust, she allegedly flipped the script and robbed them.
On Monday, March 23, Adva Lavie, 28, also known as Mia Ventura, was “held to answer” on charges of burglarizing the homes of victims she had met online, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said in a statement on Tuesday, March 24.
Lavie is facing two counts of unauthorized use of personal identifying information; two counts of grand theft, one count of first-degree residential burglary with person present and one count of first-degree residential burglary — all felonies, the district attorney said.
Lavie has appeared in “Playboy” and “Penthouse” magazines and claims to be the first ever top Israeli OnlyFans model, according to KTLA.
Lavie is scheduled to be arraigned on April 6. She is out of custody on an ankle monitor and is ordered to stay away from the named victims.
In the end, this story is a reminder that not everyone sliding into your DMs has pure intentions. Some are looking for love, some are looking for attention and apparently, some are looking for your valuables.
So next time you match with someone who seems a little too perfect, maybe ask a few extra questions, or at least keep an eye on your wallet, because love might be blind, but your bank account shouldn’t be.
