Alshon Jeffery‘s insurance fraud arrest is reportedly related to a car incident that occurred earlier this year. The former NFL player is optimistic that his reputation will be cleared once all the relevant information is revealed.
Denise White, the representative for the 36-year-old Super Bowl champion, said in a statement that her client “categorically denies the allegations.”
The statement said:
“The underlying incident was a minor freeway fender bender, and he provided his information at the scene,”
“These are unfounded allegations only, and Alshon has not been convicted of any offense. He will address this matter through the legal process, and he remains confident that the facts will demonstrate this was a misunderstanding and nothing more.”
We broke the news that Jeffrey was taken into custody on Wednesday for insurance fraud and for failing to disclose or conceal insurance benefits or payments.
Since then, he has been freed from prison. Insurance fraud is a crime in California that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and/or a fine equal to twice the amount of the fraud.
