Well, looks like another “he said, she said” situation just dropped, and the internet is already popping popcorn. This time, the spotlight lands on Sherrone Moore and his mistress, Paige Shiver, and let’s just say, the story is a lot.
From Shiver, this wasn’t your average messy situationship. She claims Moore had “complete control” over the relationship. Not partial control, not “sometimes toxic.” We’re talking full remote-control mode. Like he had a universal remote and she was stuck on one channel.
Shiver says every time she tried to leave, Moore had a way of pulling her right back in.
And honestly, if you’ve ever tried to leave a toxic relationship, you know how that goes. You pack your bags emotionally, say “I’m done,” and then boom, one conversation later, you’re sitting there like, “Okay, maybe one more chance.” It’s basically a toxic loyalty program. No rewards, just confusion.
“Here’s a man that had complete control over me,” Shiver said in her GMA interview, which will air in its entirety on Friday morning. “Over my emotions, over my career. He knew that, and he used it against me.”
Prosecutors originally alleged that Moore sent Shiver several unwanted communications after she attempted to cease contact with him and told the university about their relationship. After arriving at her apartment, police said he threatened self-harm.
“Every time I tried to pull away, every time I tried to try and get out of even Michigan, he always had a story,” Shiver said in her GMA interview. “Always had a way to pull me in and making me feel that I couldn’t leave him because he was so miserable without me.”
Meanwhile, Moore hasn’t exactly been sitting down for a tell-all interview. So for now, it’s one side of the story doing all the talking while the internet fills in the blanks like it’s a group project.
At the end of the day, this situation is messy, complicated, and probably not as simple as a trending hashtag makes it seem. Relationships are weird, people are weirder, and the truth? It usually sits somewhere in the middle, quietly minding its business while chaos takes over online.
So yes, another day, another headline that makes you side-eye your phone and say, “Why do I know this?”
