In a shocking development that absolutely nobody argued against, Paul Pierce has officially admitted that he was better scorer Michael Jordan .
“I was probably the best pure scorer ever in the history of the game.”
Pierce, a 10-time All-Star and the 2008 NBA Finals MVP, said his offensive versatility gave him an edge in several comparisons.
“I can score in more ways than Michael Jordan,” Pierce said when discussing the six-time champion. He made a similar claim about Iverson, the four-time scoring champion and 2001 MVP: “I can score in more ways than Allen Iverson.”

On Durant, the four-time scoring champion and two-time Finals MVP, Pierce called the matchup close but believed he had advantages in certain areas. “Paul Pierce or Kevin Durant? That’s close. I think I got a little more post game than Kevin,” he said. Pierce added that he often took more difficult shots than Durant, who benefits from his 7-foot frame.
Pierce emphasized his full scoring package, including post moves, mid-range pull-ups, three-pointers and drives to the basket, along with footwork and basketball IQ. He has previously noted that even without elite athleticism, players like Kobe Bryant respected his game for those reasons.
Pierce finished his 19-year career averaging 19.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. He peaked at 26.8 points per game in the 2005-06 season and scored a career-high 50 points in a game. He never led the league in scoring.
By comparison, Jordan averaged 30.1 points per game and won 10 scoring titles. Iverson averaged 26.7 points per game with four scoring titles. Durant has averaged more than 27 points per game with four scoring titles.

Jordan wasn’t just scoring points. He was destroying souls. Entire franchises still need therapy from the 1990s because of that man.
At the end of the day, Pierce kept it real. He respected greatness while still knowing he was cold himself. That’s the balance.
Besides, admitting Michael Jordan is a better scorer than you isn’t embarrassing, it’s basically joining the rest of humanity.
