Things got spicy when Jaylen Brown decided to poke the bear known as Stephen A. Smith in a new video that immediately sent basketball fans into chaos.
Brown looked straight at Stephen A. and questioned if he’s the El Chapo of the media now?
The internet instantly exploded because nobody throws around “media cartel” accusations casually, especially not toward a man who speaks louder than airport announcements and somehow appears on TV 19 hours a day.
“Cmon Stephen A, what you El Chapo? You running the media cartel my boy?” 😭😭

Things escalated last week when Brown said “F–k Stephen A.” and called for the veteran sports analyst to retire. Smith retaliated by telling Brown that he’s capable of taking his reporting to another “level.”
Neither side seems willing to back down, so the back-and-forth could continue throughout the offseason.
The whole moment felt like two different worlds colliding. On one side, you have Jaylen Brown, calm and cool. On the other side, you have Stephen A., a man capable of turning a simple ankle sprain into a Shakespearean tragedy.
Jaylen Brown on finding out he’s been selected to the All-NBA Second Team:
“I’m grateful. God is the greatest.”
“Im not the most liked…Sometimes I use my platform a little controversially…I’m surprised I win awards at all sometimes.”

Still, you have to respect this beef. Sport beefs are no longer just about basketball. Now we’re discussing media cartels, power rankings of loudness, and whether Stephen A. secretly controls ESPN from a hidden volcano lair.
I’ll “be quiet” / stop streaming if you “be quiet” and retire let’s give the people what they want https://t.co/uRiHDyvIHo

And honestly, this beef isn’t ending anytime soon.
