Puka Nacua worked out with his Rams colleagues on Thursday, but a lot of the questions he answered from reporters afterward had nothing to do with the routes he ran or the touchdowns he scored.
Nacua was questioned about the case and all the chaos that has followed at his first encounter with the media since he was sued in March for allegedly biting a woman on New Year’s Eve.
The Pro Bowl wide receiver talked about the lessons he learned from the incident, but he refrained from discussing the details of a woman’s startling accusations against him.
He stated:
“With it being an ongoing legal battle, out of respect for the other party involved, I don’t really have that much to speak on,”. “But as I previously stated, [it’s] a moment for me to learn from kind of some of the situations I was putting myself in. And then also having just an awareness of how I’m conducting myself in and out of this football field.”
“Some of things I feel like I’ve learned is it’s OK to ask for support,”, “and then to recognize the platform that I have and being a professional football player and trying to use that for the betterment of myself and for those around me and the people that have supported me.”
“It’s been a great improvement in my life,”. “I’ll let all those things handle themselves,”

In a court filing, Madison Atiabi claimed that on New Year’s Eve, while she, Nacua, and their common friends were out in Los Angeles, Nacua made an antisemitic comment at a restaurant before biting her in a sprinter van en route to their next destination.
Despite avoiding criminal prosecution due to the accusations, Nacua’s civil lawsuit against Atiabi is still pending. As the woman’s case gained national attention, Nacua eventually checked himself into treatment. When reporters questioned him about what he discovered while working at the holistic center in Malibu, he was frank.
