Tyrese Haliburton And Jade Jones Pay Tribute To Makenzi Kern Who Died At Her Bachelorette Party

Three bridesmaids in pink strapless dresses cheer with arms raised at an outdoor wedding reception fall back greenery behind them.

What was supposed to be a dream bachelorette getaway in St. Barts turned into something nobody could have imagined.

Tyrese Haliburton‘s fiancée, Jade Jones, has finally broken her silence following the heartbreaking death of her close friend, Makenzi Kern, during Jones’ bachelorette celebration. Instead of sharing more vacation photos and wedding countdown posts, Jones found herself honoring a friend she clearly loved dearly.

Life can be unbelievably unfair sometimes. Jones took to Instagram and posted a touching tribute to Kern, sharing photos of the two together over the years. The pictures showed a friendship that stretched far beyond social media likes and vacation selfies. Along with the photos, Jones described Kern as “a light in this world.”

In her caption, Jade remembers Makenzi as a goofy, funny person who brought happiness to every room she walked into.

Jade mentions some of her favorite memories with Makenzi … like living together for a summer and dancing to “Hannah Montana” songs.

She says Makenzi was a huge supporter of her relationship with Tyrese … and their wedding day just won’t be the same without her. Jade says she thinks Makenzi will find a way to make it to the wedding in spirit.

Jade finished off her message by writing, “You are truly so beautiful inside and out & a once-in-a-lifetime kind of friend. Thank you for always showing up for me, for making me laugh until I cry, and for being such an unforgettable part of my life. I’ll always miss you but I know you’ll be with me, wherever I go.”

As Jones and Haliburton continue preparing for their future together, it’s clear this loss will remain part of their story. For now, friends and loved ones are focused on remembering Makenzi Kern, celebrating her life, and holding onto the memories she left behind.

Sometimes the most meaningful tributes aren’t complicated, they’re simply reminders that someone mattered.
