The Times100 Sports Gala was supposed to be all about glamour, awards, and athletes pretending they don’t spend half their lives in sweatpants. Then Monica McNutt arrived and decided to remind everyone that red carpets are much more fun when chaos is involved.
The sports analyst hilariously photo-bombed New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson and his wife, Ali Brunson, while they were posing for pictures on the red carpet. And just like that, Monica accidentally became one of the stars of the night.
Nothing says friendship quite like sneaking into somebody else’s expensive professional photos.
The Brunsons were doing exactly what couples are supposed to do at fancy events. They smiled, posed, and looked effortlessly stylish. They probably heard photographers yelling their names from seventeen different directions.

Then somewhere in the background appeared Monica McNutt with the energy of a cousin who refuses to miss family pictures.
Red carpet events can sometimes feel like copy-and-paste productions. Smile, turn left, turn right, look serious for some reason and pretend cameras don’t exist.
Monica decided to add some personality to the operation. Mission accomplished!
Monica may not have walked away with an award that night, but she definitely won the unofficial trophy for Best Use Of Background Space.
