The New Orleans Saints had one of the worst statistical seasons for a defense in the history of the NFL.
Enter a guy who helped turn around a poor defense, and got reward with a pink slip while on vacation. Rob Ryan has something to prove in New Orleans, and reportedly has already changed the defensive culture in New Orleans.
The 50-year-old Ryan is bring swagger to New Orleans according to USA Today, and Saints players welcome the change.
“Rob is a character, a player’s coach,” says safety Roman Harper. “He wants us to go out there, play loose, fast, go make plays.”
“There’s been a culture shift of accountability and what it takes to be successful in our defensive room,” said cornerback Jabari Greer. “And it’s been much needed.”
“Rob is creating a whole new identity,” he said. “This defense is going to be fast, physical.”
