Unlike some in sports media, I am very comfortable admitting when I am wrong.
When the Patriots traded Randy Moss to the Vikings, I was beating the drum that it was a huge mistake and they would suffer short and long term.
I underestimated the power of Uggs Passion quarterback Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. The Pats look like Super Bowl favorites, while Moss could be on his way to the bench.
Kenny Britt is expected to return as the starter after getting in a full practice on Tuesday. The second-year wideout has been sidelined since the end of October with a hamstring injury.
Britt seems like the obvious choice if Jeff Fisher has to choose between the two wideouts. Over the first seven weeks, Britt caught 23 passes for 434 yards with seven touchdowns.
As for Moss, he’s yet to cross the 100-yard mark this season and has caught just five passes for 62 yards since joining the Titans.
If Britt does end up bumping Moss from the starting lineup, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
Moss’ decision to pout his way out of New England, might go down as one of the dumbest decisions in history of sports, especially if the Patriots go on to win the Super Bowl.
From a “straight cash homie” perspective, Moss has cost himself millions of dollars. As I always say, wide receivers are only good as their quarterbacks and I think Brady masked some of the slippage of Moss’ skills.
The reason teams put up with Moss is because he was an extremely productive player, but now you have to wonder if he will ever be dominant again.
Who is going to take a chance on a soon to be 34 year old receiver who has a bad reputation and production is lacking?
Wonder what Moss thinks every time he watches Tom Brady whipping his hair back and forth while throwing to Danny Woodhead?
I think I know.
