When Kendrick Lamar’s newest single “i” was first released, many of his loyal fans were confused and surprised by the direction he went. It was definitely a different sound for the rapper from Compton but turns out the hit song has made him more marketable and will put more money in his pockets. It was announced that this new song will be the official song of the 2014-2015 NBA season.

Kendrick Lamar’s “”i” is still shedding off positive energy. As the song continues to shatter records, the NBA is using the single to promote their 2014-2015 season. It will be featuring during NBA telecasts and will serve as the official NBA anthem for the upcoming season.
Kendrick will perform “i” on Oct. 30 for the NBA/TNT concert. Check out the promo video here.
