When you hear the word “LAST”, you expect it to have a huge impact because it implies that you will never see it again.
But, as I watched Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it felt more like a transition movie, just something to pass the time to the next Star Wars movie. It didn’t have the fresh feel of the Force Awaken and didn’t really move the story along in a very impactful way.
With trilogies normally the middle movie is the best one out of the bunch, because you aren’t dealing with an origin story or leading towards a dramatic conclusion, but there are also times the middle movie is just there, to get you to the third movie. That was the case with the Last Jedi.
It isn’t a bad movie, but it isn’t one you are going to be talking about passionately for the next 20 years.
