When the news first came across Twitter yesterday morning that Clifford Harris had been arrested for driving with a suspended license with no insurance, I immediately assumed that the rapper T.I. – aka Clifford Harris, Jr. – had earned himself a return trip to the slammer. I let out an internal, “C’mon Man!” and nearly threw my phone in disgust.
I found it curious, however, that none of my go to hip hop bloggers were commenting about this on my timeline. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was not, in fact, T.I. that had been arrested, but the University of Oregon starting Cornerback who had been cited for multiple traffic violations, and subsequently suspended indefinitely by the University.
This is the second such suspension that the All-American has faced in less than six months, as he was suspended for the first game of the season for a similar offense committed in June. I’m not sure what sort of operation Chip Kelly is running up there in Eugene, but he needs to get his players to put the number of University Escort Services in their fave five!
