In an interview with USA Today, Patriots linebacker Elandon Roberts let it be known he was harassed after being stopped for allegedly speeding in the Houston suburb of Richmond. Roberts pulled into the driveway of his house and stepped out of the car with his hands up and let deputy Adam Watkins know that. Roberts was told to get back the car which he did quickly.
Even though Roberts complied, it didn’t stop the deputy from creating tension. He called for backup saying there was a big black man and lying saying Roberts didn’t comply. Officers eventually let him go.
Dash cam footage has been released and it clearly shows Roberts complied. Roberts filed a complaint 10 later. He doesn’t want any financial gain, just wants the biased traffic stops to end.
