New evidence has emerged suggesting that the drowning of Army Veteran Chris Skinner was not an accident, as previously believed. Recently uncovered footage has caught the attention of investigators and led to the reopening of the case.
The footage, which has been kept under wraps until now, shows a series of events leading up to Skinner’s untimely demise. It reveals suspicious activities and raises questions about the initial ruling of his death as accidental.
In the footage Skinner can be seen waiting for several seconds, then his wheelchair accelerates in a straight line towards the pool with no attempt to turn or slow down.
With no one around to save him, he drowned while strapped to his wheelchair.
Skinner is ‘seen attempting to pull his head up a few times… but is unable to do so’ and the motion-activated camera stopped recording, police wrote in their report.
Two weeks earlier, Skinner had confronted John-Paul Miller, 44, and demanded the controversial pastor end an alleged affair with his wife of 17 years, Suzie Skinner.
The time on the newly released CCTV footage read 6.56am on the camera’s timestamp, but had not adjusted for daylight saving time. He was not found until 40 minutes later.
Skinner’s death was ruled an accidental drowning at the time, but Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard reopened the case last month after mysterious ‘new evidence regarding the manner of death’ came to light.
The drowning happened three years before Miller’s wife, Mica, 30, was found dead in Lumbee River State Park in North Carolina on April 27, 2024, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, days after filing for divorce.
As the investigation progresses and new details surface, it becomes increasingly apparent that the death of Army Veteran Chris Skinner was far from accidental. The footage catalyzes justice, providing a fresh perspective on a case that has remained unsolved for far too long.
