Travis Kelce Talks About THAT Patrick Mahomes’ Behind-The-Back Pass

Despite not having the NFL’s largest or strongest arm, Patrick Mahomes has centered his style of play on improvisation.

Mahomes is widely recognized as one of the league’s most creative and clever quarterbacks, and he possesses a wide variety of throwing techniques. The two-time MVP is renowned for executing some of the NFL’s most spectacular passes. Remember how he was able to throw a pass when he was tumbling to the ground in Super Bowl 57?

Even though Patrick Mahomes’ behind-the-back pass against the Lions in the preseason was more than a year ago, his right guard, Trey Smith, can still clearly recall it.

Travis Kelce gets brutally honest about Patrick Mahomes

In a recent interview with the Kelce brothers, Smith discussed Mahomes’ genius and said that, despite seeing comparable magic from the Texas Tech alum in practice, he still finds it hard to comprehend how the Texas Tech alum accomplished it.

Although Kelce was aware that he had ruined the route, he had total confidence in his quarterback to turn the play around. That confidence paid off. Kelce looked good thanks to Mahomes’ ingenuity, and he deserves credit for making a hard, low catch and turning it upfield for a first down.

Travis said: “He made me look so good on that play knowing damn well that I was the one who fu*ked up the play where he had do something spectacular to make it look good. He’s one of a kind in that regard, man,”

When it came to that creative behind-the-back pass, even Patrick Mahomes had some thoughts. Mahomes stands out because he possesses the special skill set necessary to carry off those kind of plays.
