Six months into their marriage, Dwight Howard‘s wife has filed for divorce. Earlier this year, the NBA Hall of Famer married Amber Rose Howard.
The rapper and reality TV personality, better known as Amy Luciani, filed for divorce at a Georgia courthouse on July 1st, according to court documents. In the filings, she said, “The marriage is irretrievably broken.” In addition, Amber stated that “there are no prospects for reconciliation.”
Amber demanded in the lawsuit that all of the marital property and assets be “equitably divided.” In the filing, she also asked for alimony.
In December of last year, Howard and Amber announced their engagement to the world. According to court records, their official marriage took place on January 11. At the age of 39, Howard is a member of the Big Three leagues.
He was inducted into the Hall of Fame after playing in the NBA for 18 seasons. In the 2004 NBA Draft, Howard was selected with the first overall choice. He played for the Washington Wizards, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Houston Rockets, Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, and Philadelphia 76ers.
