ESPN’s 10 part Last Dance Michael Jordan/Bulls documentary has shown everyone a different side of Jordan that they have never seen.
The footage is him in his element and it’s a raw unfiltered Jordan. That might be my favorite version of MJ.
During the doc, there’s footage of MJ in Barcelona during the 1992 Olympics talking about having to wear Reebok. Reebok was the sponsor for the team and they had to wear outfits from Reebok during the medal ceremony or they wouldn’t have been able to accept the medals with the team.
That was a rule made by Harvey Schiller who was the executive director of the US Olympic Committee.
Jordan, signed by Nike, didn’t like that rule and called Schiller a d*ck for making the rule. Jordan ended up covering up the Reebok logo with an American flag so no one could film him wearing the brand.
Schiller, like almost everyone else, saw the footage of Jordan calling him a d*ck and responded by saying he bets the whole team still has the Reebok gear from the Olympics.
