Meek Mill revealed on Friday he will be releasing a song about Colin Kaepernick.
Meek shared with Page Six the song, likening Kaepernick’s experience to a financial lynching, will appear on a future secret album. Here is a sample of the lyrics.
They lynch his bank account,” Meek said, riffing a few bars and then explaining the takeaway.
The song includes lyrics such as, “They told Kap to stand up if you want to play for a team, and most of his teammates said the same thing,” as well as, “Back in the ’30s you would be killed if you kneeled. They won’t kill you now, they just take you out of the deal.”
During Mill’s recent incarceration, Kaepernick maintained contact with him throughout the period. Mill, in turn, says he supports Kap “100%.”
Other than, “Colin Kaepernick,” no other details on the future album are available.
