In general I agree with JR Smith.
When you play selfish ball, you normally lose. That is an accurate statement, so I have no issues with that.
The fact that JR Smith is giving that message is equal to Ben Roethlisberger giving tips on how to pick up women in the club.
Whereas Carmelo Anthony’s comments about “having to do it alone” have a lot of truth to them, unless JR is speaking of himself when he talks about playing selfishly, I am not sure who he is speaking on.
If he’s speaking about Carmelo – that would be out of line. I have watched every game of the series and Anthony seems to be the only one who gives a damn.
Meanwhile Smith has been doing his usual – jacking up threes, playing matador defense, and looking like he’d rather be getting another tattoo than be in the game.
They asked interim coach Adrian Dantley what he thought about the tweet and here is what he had to say:
“What do you want me to say? That he shouldn’t have made that comment? I don’t know. He shouldn’t have made that comment,”
In layman’s terms he is saying JR is the last person who should be talking about being selfish.
Right now the Nuggets are living in a big glass house… and they are the ones throwing the stones and breaking the windows.
All hope isn’t lost, but if they lose this series the implosion will be complete.
