The good news is Stephen Jackson’s wife wasn’t hurt in the robbery. It could have been a lot worse than a home invasion. Any time you are held at gun point that has to be a terrifying experience not knowing if you are going to live or die.
Definitely glad she is safe. Here are the details to what happened:
Detectives in Charlotte are investigating a home invasion at the home of one of the Charlotte Bobcats.
Three masked men broke into Stephen Jackson’s home early Wednesday morning, police said. Officers said Jackson was not at home, but his wife was.
According to a police report, the men held her at gunpoint while they took valuables from the home, including several Louis Vuitton wallets, jewelry, a stun gun and a 9 millimeter handgun.
They live in a gated community so the police aren’t sure how the burglers were able to get in undectected. There are some reports that it wasn’t a “random” robbery and that Jackson may have been targeted, but no details have arisen to back up those reports.
Whatever security Jackson has at his home needs to be upgraded.
This isn’t the first and unfortunately won’t be the last time an athlete’s home will be targeted for invasions. Simply put when your salary is out in the public and your home isn’t super secure you can easily become a victim.
As I stated at the beginning of the piece he should consider himself very lucky that there were just a few items stolen.
