Have the New Orleans Hornets and new owner Dell Demps thrown in the white flag? Have they come to the realization that Chris Paul is more than likely headed to New York to try and team up with Amar’e Stoudemire and possibly Carmelo Anthony to form the New York Knicks version of the “Big Three”?
According to the Oregonian, Jerryd Bayless was traded to the Hornets for a conditional first round pick. After the trade is approved by the NBA, the Trailblazers will still have to release and / or trade one more player to get down to the mandatory 15 man roster by Monday at 3pm EST.
This is an interesting move for the Hornets. By trading for Bayless, the Hornets receive a combo guard that can run the point guard position, but is also explosive enough to run the two guard. This move also protects the Hornets in the long run in the event that they can not re-sign Chris Paul to a long-term contract.
After an entire off-season of wondering where free agents would sign, this is yet another move in the NBA that will make this season one of the more interesting and entertaining to watch.
