Carmelo Anthony to Michael Jordan: “Thanks But No Thanks to the Bobcats”

I don’t think people understand.

Carmelo Anthony is going to be a New York Knick.

Not a Bobcat, not a Net, not a Laker and not a Maverick. He wants to be a Knick and if that means being miserable for the rest of the year I think he is prepared to do that.

Michael Jordan, owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, was prepared to make a move to get Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony, but was informed by a representative of the All-Star forward that Anthony had no interest in joining the Bobcats or signing an extension with them, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Anthony is one of many players attached to the Jordan Brand and has a good relationship with Jordan as one of the product line’s top endorsers.

If Carmelo Anthony was willing he would already be a New Jersey Net, I don’t even know why the Nets continue to put together proposals.

He is not signing an extension with anyone besides the Knicks.

If he ends up with any other team at this point it will be a miracle.

I have to disagree with you on Carmelo willing to wait for the Knicks. He could lose out on some serious money with the CBA coming up and no guarantee there will be a season next year. He takes the deal now or loses money waiting to play with Knicks next season. He'll get jealous knowing Amare is making 30-40 million more than him.

I don't get it. Melo is not getting any heat from the bias media. He's still under contract with the Nuggets, but he's dictating where he wants to be traded. LBJ was a FA, and moved to another team and everybody hates him for exercising his rights. Please don't give me the BS, " It's how he did it " that people have a problem with, Brett Favre does the same crap every year.I think people were pissed because they saw three young men came together to accomplish their dream of playing together, and since LBJ is the biggest star, it makes it easy for the hatters to hate.

    • I know this sounds simple, but Melo not as big of star, so I don't think anyone besides hard core NBA fans care

    • Matt says:

Yes, my problem with Lebron is how he did it and I can't stand Favre either for the same reasons. Another reason that people don't like Lebron for what he did, though, is because they want to see the star players being more competitive and not just trying to make it as easy as possible to win.

    • Joe says:

Of course its how LeBron did it. He waited to tell any team what his plan was until all of the good FA's were taken leaving the Cavs with a huge amount of cap and nobody to sign. There is nothing wrong what with Melo is doing. He is giving the Nuggets a heads up to make plans without him and letting other teams know he will be available and I doubt the Knicks will have a Championship parade before training camp starts. Stop defending one of the biggest attention whores in NBA history.

      • Cavs knew Lebron was going to be a free agent they took the risk

        • Joe says:

Show me were it said LeBron was going to leave Clevland for sure, beyond a shadow of doubt, before the "decision." He didn't, it was all speculation because LeBron would not say anything. He led every team on with his silence, including the Cavs, until the last possible moment. Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6….how many excuses are gonna be made for this selfish doosh with his 5 story birthday cake with a crown on top. Please, Melo is a way classier guy than LeBron and would not do the Nuggets like LeBron did the Cavs.
