Where Is Carson Palmer?
The Cincinnati Bengals seem to be doing just fine without their former Quarterback Carson Palmer. Behind rookie QB Andy Dalton, the Bengals have started the season 2-2 and are coming off a big win against the previously undefeated Buffalo Bills. Meanwhile, Carson Palmer is still “hanging around” as owner Mike Brown refuses to give in.
When Palmer was making threats to retire because he has “80 million in the bank”, it seemed like he just might retire. However, recent reports indicate that he is ready to play quarterback in the NFL once again.
Mike Florio reported on Versus’ NBC SportsTalk that Palmer has spent the last three weeks working out with former NFL quarterback Ken O’Brien. Presumably, Palmer wouldn’t be doing drills with a former NFL quarterback unless he thought he had some time as an NFL quarterback ahead of him.
At 2-2, the Bengals are in the thick of things in the AFC North. It’s still very early in the season, but it seems as if the Bengals will be just fine with Andy Dalton at the quarterback position for this year and the future. The trade deadline comes in a few weeks (October 18th) so if the Bengals get a good enough trade offer, we just might see Mike Brown change his stance on Carson Palmer.
