Regardless of what you think about his play on the field, Ocho has been an excellent teammate all year and that is something many of his critics said were impossible.

He has never complained once, has been encouraging of all his teammates and not responded to any of the slander fair or unfair he has received.

Considering the success Ocho has had in the league, he could have complained about getting more touches or maybe some specific routes for himself, but he hasn’t been a distraction and has been rewarded with a trip to the Super Bowl.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Ochocinco bought 70 Beats By Dre headphones for each of his teammates to have during their flight to Indianapolis on Sunday for Super Bowl XLVI.

Beats By Dre, created by legendary hip-hop producer Dr. Dre, are considered to be among the best — and priciest — headphones on the market, with even the basic model running upwards of $100 a piece.

And I was right. Per the Boston Herald, Chad dropped roughly $28,000 on the “Beats Pro” model for his comrades.’

I have no rooting interest in the Giants or Patriots winning the game.

I do hope Ocho, who just recently lost his father, contributes in some way.  Just saying you caught a pass in the Super Bowl is a big thing and I hope he gets that opportunity.

By the way, this is a much better gift than Tom Brady handing out a pair of UGGs to everyone.

Beats By Dre are neither the best, nor the priciest. They’re all headphones that aren’t necessarily bad, but due to marketing hype, are anywhere between 1.5-2x their real street value. They’re marketed as studio monitors, which is incorrect considering the headphones are “colored” which means that they aren’t designed to accurately reproduce recording material. They have an emphasis on the mid-bass, a common consumer trait in headphones, since most people just like the bass line in music, and mistakenly attribute “more bass” as “better headphone”.

The truth of the matter is, there are hundreds of headphones in the same price range as the beats line, some even made by Monster themselves like the Monster Turbine Pro Copper, and Miles Davis Tribute that outperform the Beats line at their price range, but just don’t have the marketing, or exposure outside of the niche audience.

“She say she are the manager” thinks you need to invest in a copy of Strunk and White.

War high-school level usage and grammar.

  3. Okay, so you are saying what headphones were given by Occho to his team is a ruse because you say he doesn’t pay enough for them seeing how his gold ones are seriously more expensive. I consider the gift valuable, just as you think is not. What, would it be better to send his whole team the ones that are gold and more expensive? What is wrong with this?
out of the mix is to just not share his life with you. It’s just like give give and give again.

Are you kidding me? You just wasted a ton of money on your team buying sub par headphones, I’m sorry to say.

Under what reviewing website did you find the Beats headphones as being amongst the best headphones in the market?

Did you know that the Audio Technica ATH-M50 headphone delivers better sound quality than the Beats headphones, and they cost you $270 less per headphone? With that, you could have saved yourself $18,900. Can you read that? That’s nearly $19,000! Imagine what you could do with that money. Oh well, it’s not my money going down to waste.

  5. That guy says:

“Some of the best and priciest around” Lost it reading that. Good job on the garbage headphones made by a fading star with little to no talent and very little knowledge on how to master music apparently. If you want bass go for Ultrasone, or sony, or even the Skull candy MMM/Aviators are better. Don’t mean to sound like an ass but good god; people buying beats saying”DEY DA BEST ROUND’ BECAUSE THE T.V. AND MONSTER TOLD ME SO” is just quite frankly stupid as all hell.

  6. VZV says:

I know most of the article was defending him, but I think most of his teammates would trade in the gift for a little more production on the field and perhaps learning the playbook. OchoCinco knows he owes them something to make up for his disappearing act this season.

  7. Leesa Clevenger says:

According to this article Chad spent almost $30,000 on headphones. A few weeks ago, he was complaining on facebook that his daughter was suspended for answering a teacher’s question “Why are you late to class?” and she responded, “Why? You still get paid, don’t you?” What do you think that teacher makes a year? I think THIS is the definition of KARMA! Once again, as I replied on facebook. Shame on you, Chad!

  8. James says:

And on Facebook just like in real life Leesa no one cares… i.e. the Buddhists have came up with definition of Karma couple thousand years ago may want to try cracking the spine of a book one day.
