I thought Mike Martz did a nice job in Chicago.
Bears hosted NFC Championship game one year and were well on their way to the playoffs this year before Cutler got hurt. I don’t think Martz was the problem.
Martz has resigned as offensive coordinator of the Bears, citing philosophical differences, Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune reports.
It’s not clear what those philosophical differences are, and whether they’re with head coach Lovie Smith, or with the direction the team’s personnel department will go in now that G.M. Jerry Angelo has been fired.
If I was a NFL team looking for a head coach I would at least give Martz an interview.
