I don’t think Chad Johnson is going to survive this.
It is one thing to be young and in your prime like Dez Bryant. You can hit your mom and other assorting things and people will make a 101 excuses for you.
When you are older and on the downside of your career you can’t make any mistakes especially when you are a lightening rod like Chad Johnson. I don’t even think the Dolphins care as much about what he was arrested for, but the fact that is bringing both sports and entertainment media crashing down on them.
Mike Freeman of CBS Sports reports that Chad better have a really good story lined up or his only source of income will be his reality show.
Dolphins source tells me no official decision has been made yet on Chad Johnson. However, this is what I’m told by a variety of sources…

So unless Johnson’s explanation is rock solid the people who want to release him sooner than later will win out–sooner than later.

I think it’s also safe to say the Dolphins have great skepticism about Chad Johnson’s version of events. But that could change. Who knows?
