You would think that it wouldn’t have taken two years to figure out it would be best for them to develop a certain level of chemistry, but it seems it took rumors of a breakup to make it happen.
“It’s been great,” Howard said. “The thing we are trying to build on the most is chemistry between me and James. We have played together for two years, but the best way to build chemistry is to have those individual workouts together.
“That’s what we have done the last couple of weeks and we have gotten better at reading each other and the more we do it, the better we will become.”
If the rumors of Howard being upset at his role in Houston was the catalyst for this change in attitude, Rockets fans should see this as a good thing.
JB Bickerstaff had a chat with his two superstars and it had a positive effect on Howard.
“J.B. has done a great job with that,” Howard said. “He has sat both of us down. We have had opportunities to talk and really try to figure this thing out – how we can work together and become a dominant tandem we need to be to win.”
No one can win a title on their own and if the Rockets are planning to succeed the need both Howard and Harden on same page.
