When you think of two way players you think LeBron James, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler just to name a few.
According to himself, Stanley Johnson thinks he’s the best two way player in the 2015 NBA Draft.
The star freshman from Arizona has a versatile and unique skill set, one that he believes would suit the Oklahoma City Thunder very well.
“I think they think I’m the best two-way player in the draft,” said Johnson, the former Arizona swingman, at last month’s NBA Draft Combine. “And that’s appealing to them, as it is to most people. They really like me.”
Johnson’s physique is grown man like at the age of 19, and at 6’7 and 243 pounds will allow him to guard multiple positions. Not to mention, he’s not to shabby at scoring he led the Wildcats in scoring with 13.8 points and a terrific rebounder averaging just under 7 at 6.5 rebounds.
The question is will Johnson fall all the way to 14 to the Thunder, realistically probably not.
The PAC12 Freshman of the Year had a disappointing NCAA tournament and his stock has been sliding from 8 to 13 range in most mock drafts. The combination of frame, athleticism and above all winning culture that Johnson brings could be a bargain late in the lottery for a person with Top 5 talent.
Do you agree with Johnson’s claim, or is it a bit farfetched ?
